On January 14th Lincoln Lodge #80 held its Local Hoop Shoot, in order to go to the hoop shoot local schools held a preliminary shoot through their PE classes. This brought 21 contestants to Southwest High school where with the help of 18 elks and 3 non elks hosted the shoot a total of 588 miles were traveled to make the shoot a success, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the elks and PE teachers who made this possible without your help there would not be a shoot.

The winners were as follows, 8-9 Boys Mick Tyler making 19 out of 25 shots, 8-9 girls Lexie Crocker made 14 out of 25 shots, 10,11 boys Cooper Coffman made 19 out of 25 shots, 10-11 girls Brandy Horton made 14 out of 25 shots, 12-13 girls Lauren Thiele made 18 out of 25 shots.

Youth Scholarship Night
May 2, 2016 - Southeast Community College - Lincoln, NE

2016 Youth Night on May 2, 2016, saw a crowd of around 500 people celebrate excellence in area juniors and seniors. About 235 juniors were recognized, and 37 scholarships were awarded to deserving seniors. All scholarships are funded through Lincoln Elks Lodge #80 Charitable Fund, Inc., many in the name of generous individual benefactors. Also, one of our lodge's entrants into the ENF Most Valuable Student competition, Supriya Reddy, was awarded a $4,000 scholarship. Many lodge members participated in the judging of the scholarship applications and in the Youth Night itself. The list is too lengthy, but they know who they are. Many thanks to all who worked to make it a success - it certainly takes teamwork!
